Says PC is offline (When it is actually not)
I've been trying to connect to my PC for a while now. It keeps saying it's offline, and trys to "wake it up" with that "Wake on LAN" thing. Tried going off the beta build, turned it off the Steam Link and Steam client. Don't know what else to do.

Have you tried going to add computer again?

That worked, thanks!

Your PC is on, but is Steam logged in? I noticed there was a Steam client update today and my steam hadn't processed it yet. As soon as I updated, it was able to wake up.

An old topic now but I had similar issues with Steam Link. Turned out to be a problem with my Firewall blocking access. Giving full permissions to Steam executables, worked for me.

Add Computer worked for me. I moved to a new home, and therefore changed routers and thus networks. Apparently you have to reauthorize your Steam Link to access your PCs if you change networks. Steam sends a code to the computer from your Steam Link which you see on your TV. You enter the code and your PC is reauthorized.

that happens when the pc ip changes
the link only looks for the ip not check for computers every time

most routers assign the same mac the same ip address for a few days

if you change routers or turn the pc off for a day or so it will get a different ip

My IP hasn't changed. I'm logged into Steam. It's actually up right now, but the Steam Link client doesn't detect it. I took someone's boneheaded suggestion and removed the computer, and now it won't even find the computer. So yeah, this is nice. It took the jaws of life and no less than TEN verifications to link the comp to the TV, and now it won't detect it.

As for updates, Steam has no updates showing right now. And I logged in as early as 6 hours ago and played. The television itself is picking up the computer just fine, so this is a Steam issue. Which steam always has issues.

This is the value of owning a few good consoles. Getting a PS5 and Switch this month. None of this hassle is worth it. If your tech doesn't work, don't advertise it.
