Stuttering issues fixed by unlikely solution
My Steam Link had been struggling to stream games smoothly even after trying every recommendation I could find online, even after I set everything to lowest settings (720p, stream quality to 'Fast', etc.). And I'm using a wired connection for both the Steam Link and my computer, and my computer is a pretty beefy build, so I knew this shouldn't be the case. So, out of pure frustration, I tried checking and unchecking everything, just because I didn't know what else to do, in hopes that something might stop the streaming from stuttering so often.

Under Settings -> In-Home Streaming -> Advanced Host Options, I unchecked 'Prioritize Network Traffic' and viola! Stuttering went away! And I was able to change all my settings to max, both in-game and in the Client Options (1080p "Beautiful" settings) and it streamed flawlessly. So... I'm not sure if that 'Prioritize Network Traffic' checkbox is broken or what, but unchecking it FINALLY solved my problem after hours of troubleshooting, so I thought I'd write this post for anyone else who is struggling with stuttering issues and has tried just about everything. I already have QoS settings enabled in my router too, so maybe that checkbox was somehow interferring with my already established QoS settings.

Interesting, good find. I think for most people this option should stay checked since it has been knows to solve quite a few issues but obviously not in your case. Actually I've always had it enabled so I'll try without it and see what happens...

What router do you use?

Nice. Thanks for that, I'll give it a go and see if it helps for me.

Same Q as jumpy though - what router you on?

My router is a DGL-4500.

I have this problem so I went to go uncheck the network traffic priority, only to find it was already unchecked, so... not helpful for me. :/

Not only is that box unchecked for me... I'm not able to check it! I'm here because I experience intolerable stuttering issues on a box that should easily be able to handle streaming video.
