Steam Link Web Browser and Slingbox (or other plugins)

It finally seems as though I found the perfect piece of hardware to stream my Slingbox to my TV wirelessly. I've used a WD Media device and even screen mirroring from my Surface Pro, but nothing seems to do this as effectively as what I believe the Steam Link will provide.

Here is the issue though: When I go to slingboxDOTcom and go through the initial setup using the Link Web browser, I eventually get to one of those screens that instructs me on how to activate the web application/plugin for Slingbox. It tells me to wait a few seconds for another window to pop up that I just need to accept to activate, but this secondary pop up window never comes. Nothing happens even when I click the "did your download not start?" link.

Is there a way to see these sort of plugin notifications in the Link browser? It seems as though it's popping up somewhere, but I can't find it!

FWIW, I can stream the Slingbox using Link no problem by going into my regular web browser, but this involves a few extra steps, and I'd rather just be able to do this via the Steam Link Web feature on the Big Screen mode.

This isn't a direct response, but Sling used to have a Windows desktop app that worked very well. I know they tried to push everyone to the web app, but maybe you can see if you can find the original app and add that to Steam.

You can add apps to Steam Link? How would I go about doing that? Like would I do it in Big Screen mode?

You would add the slingplayer.exe program as a "non-steam game" to Steam, then you could launch it through Steam. I guess the same way you get your web browser to stream over the Steam Link.
I don't know if you can still get the desktop slingplayer, but I dont' see why it wouldn't work through the Steam Link if it works on your desktop.
