Generic PS3 controller wont do wireless?

Anyone have any experience setting up wireless generic ps3 controllers? I have no problem using it wired, but wireless it just stops working and I get "this controller is not supported".

Is there a way to get it to work?

most off brand and clone controllers have problems

what link device are you using?

and what controller exactly?
can you post its usb vid/pid?
and maybe a link to buy one so the devs can test it

I'm using an original steam link, and the controller is one of the aliexpress clones:

I was hoping it'd work as a generic bluetooth controller, but I can't seem to get it to function.

the usb vender and product identifiers
thats how the os knows what it is and how to use it

and the devs can use that to see how the link is dealing with the controller
