Steam Link w/ Dolphin only 30 FPS?
I recently got a steam link, but when I run dolphin games they are locked to 30fps on the link. On my pc it is running at 60fps however.

Any ideas?

Also, for some reason the controller configs for my 360 and steam controller dont work very good. If you have a good config for 360 and steam controller send me it!

Thanks!

Under the host machine's In-Home Stream Options:
Advanced Options --> ENABLE "Use NVFBC capture on NVIDIA GPU"

Changing that 1 setting alone made PPSSPP and PCSX2 work for me.

To get Dolphin working, I changed the graphics plugin:
OpenGL (Default) ----> DirectX11.

I don't really understand that, because both PPSSPP and PCX2 are using OpenGL, but whatever.

Your mileage may vary if you're using an AMD card. Not sure if AMD users have a similar option in the In-Home Streaming advanced settings

Finally I can really enjoy 60fps emulation on steamlink. ;} Cheers!
Bumping this legendary thread which still works to get 60fps dolphin emulation in 2020.

DX11 just works.

I'm using a recent dev build and I get 60fps no problem - without much fiddling.

I'm still fine-tuning the controller settings, I think the tilting and angling won't work, but for basic stuff it's fine. I'm playing with PS4 and steam controllers.

Ive been trying to get my ps4 controller to work with dolphin via streaming it thru link to tv. Seems to only recognize it as a keyboard mouse. Any ideas?

If your using ICE (which i recommend) go into graphics settings in Dolphin on your PC and enable Keep Window on Top and Render to Main Window. That fixed the unresponsive controls for me with the Wii U Pro controller.

I was unable to find a good working configuration for Dolphin without using ICE. Its kind of a pain in the rear to set up , but its deffinatly worth the time.

I'm currently experiencing the same issue as you Flackey. I know the PC is capable of running the game at 60 FPS, but it's streaming at only 30 FPS. What's odd is that PC games with much higher graphics demands are able to stream @ 60 fps no problem.

Anyone know of the solution? I've also noticed the same issue with PPSSPP (a PSP emulator) being capped at 30fps for streaming.

How do you launch the game?
from desktop or as a "non steam game"

When launching the emulators on Steam link it's as a non steam game.

I've noticed that when streaming the emulated classic games (for example NES, SNES, Genesis) Steamlink will stream 60 FPS, but PCSX2, PPSSPP and Dolphin are capped to 30fps.

I've also tried streaming to another PC with the same results.

Steam mis-reports that the stream is 60fps. What's odd is that the gameplay on the original PC is running full speed.
