Steam link sudden lag/slow, unplayable
hi guys,
I was using steam link to play wow classic with consoleport addon. I have set an iphone with backbone x box controller, so I was playing the game on my phone through steam link. It was working very well for last couple of months until today. Last night was also fine. but today, I just couldnt play the game at all. its super laggy, the red connection warning is always on. I tested the network in steam link app, it says good connection, up to 100mb. but as soon as I start stream, my phone goes to black screen. it takes five minutes to get the first image. meanwhile on pc, the system is already in big picture mode. and if I start the game. it will just stuck at character screen, I can still use the controller to move the mouse and press the buttons. and the pc screen works fine, just like I am using a wifi controller to the game. but my phonescreen/steamlink screen just stuck there, not moving or updating at all.
I tried to unistall steam link. but it didnt help. any idea why it turns down all of suddan??
thanks.

make sure windows network is set to private
make sure wifi isolation is disabled on the router
and ping the phone wifi ip address
should be similar to host pc ip 192.168.same.different
disable mobile data on the phone (force it to use wifi)
disable any vpn

is there a solution yet? my steam link network test used to go up to 60mb/s now it struggles to reach 10

on lan, not wifi, network test should hit 100mb/s (if the link app device has 100mb/s lan port) or faster when its using direct connection

you can also check the speed option on host pc, streaming client setting
if u r using hotspot wifi from your pc do this and u will have zero lags
first turn on your hotspot(must be 5ghz)
then open cmd as administrator and type this command
netsh wlan set autoconfig enabled=no interface="Wi-Fi"
after u've done playin and want to reverse the seting so u can turn on hot spot again use this command in cmd as administrator
netsh wlan set autoconfig enabled=yes interface="Wi-Fi"
(again if u don't use the second command after u r finish with steam link u can't turn on the hotspot next time.first command is for lag free and second command is for turning on hotspot on your next start up)

Just adding on, I discovered mine lags but only after every 5 - 10 mins or so. After various attempts at tuning the settings, I discovered that the following service is active whenever the lags occur: Connected User Experience and Telemetry. Disabling/removing this service solves the problem for me. I guess it must have consumed a significant part of the bandwidth.
