Help with Emulators
Hello,
I'd like to know how I can get Non-Steam games to play through the Steam Link.

I have the NES Emulator and can get the game to load on my TV but the game doesnt seem to recognise my XBOX 360 Controler.

Even using the settings through the settings option for the NES Emulator doesnt help.

Any advice?

An emulator is not a game at all , you should change the title to Help with Emulators.

One of the easier ways to get emulators working is to set up ICE.

Thanks for the help,
I did change the topic.

I looked at ICE but kept getting an error when trying to run it.

Steam seems to set up a kind of virtual driver without making a device show up as connected, so the emulator or program won't recognize it. Try connecting your 360 pad via Virtualhere. If you dont want to spend $20 on that, try connecting an XINPUT controller to your computer before turning on the steam link.

I use emulationstation and the following emulators works without issues:
- Dolphin
(Activate to render in main window and disable exit message)
- Snes9x
(Set start game in fullscreen)
- PCSX2
- Project64 1.6
(NRage 2.3 controller plugin)
- VBA-M
(Set up everything and go to fullscreen > alt + f4 > set the config file to read only. You need to make this, because vba haven't a setting to start the game in fullscreen.

You have to connect and setup the controllers at the emulators on the pc first and then they should work via the link.
I would also suggest virtualhere, because of less troubles with the link overall.

I could provide the configuration file for emulationstation, if you need it.

Highly suggest you use Retroarch for emulation, it acts as a frontend for multiple emulators so you can load games from many systems from a single program, makes it easy to switch from game to game and sorta unifies all your controller configs.
