Doom 2016 audio issues
I've been having some serious audio issues when I try to stream Doom 2016... When I do try, it barely comes in and what I do get is horribly distorted and/or static-y. It doesn't seem to be an issue exclusively with the steam link as I also got it when I tried to stream through steam for a friend on release day.

It's perfectly fine through my headphones on my pc and it was also fine when I used a different streaming program for my friend instead of going through steam. I'm not using wireless, I'm connected with an ethernet cable, and none of my other games have ever done this. I'm not really sure what's wrong or what I can do to try and fix this problem...

I am using:

Video card: Nvidia GTX 970 4gb
CPU: Intel i5-6600k
Ram: 16gb DDR4
Windows 10 Home 64x

Figured out what the problem was; I had to go into my audio device's properties(right clicking the speaker in the system tray, playback devices, right clicking my speakers and then properties) and change the audio quality down to 16bit, 48000mhz. Apparently Doom doesn't play nice with anything higher than that. Not awesome, but at least it works!

Hopefully this will help someone else!

I replaced audio cables thinking that was the issue to no avail, but as soon as I changed my settings to 16bit 4800Mhz everything work perfectly - thank you!
Thank you SO much for posting how you resolved your issue! You were a big help!

TL;DR: Make sure your audio drivers are up to date.

Google brought me here so I thought I'd leave a comment for future folks. None of the proposed solutions (changing bitrate, etc.) worked for me. Finally, I realized that I had never downloaded the audio drivers for my motherboard (I'm using onboard sound). The default Windows drivers were good enough for regular audio, but in Doom everything kept breaking up. In short, I downloaded and installed the Realtek drivers for my ASRock motherboard and the sound problems went away.
