Weird sound issues with Razer Man 'O War

Just getting my steam link set up and have been having strange issues with my headset (a wireless Razer Man 'O War), sound comes out of both ear phones but is substantially concentrated on the left. This happens with the steam links menu sounds and then any sounds that come through while streaming. Changing the audio settings make no difference. This is the only piece of hardware this happens with and it's pretty much unusable at this point.

I found a small workaround by using VirtualHere make the computer "see" the headsets USB dongle, but this seems to produce a lot of stuttering and latency so it's hardly ideal.

Any ideas? I'm completely at a loss.

does the headset work when plugged into the pc?

may be a power issue, link is only able to power about 1.5a to its usb ports
if the headset needs more than that get an external powered usb hub
