How to update the steanlink by USB

I have downloaded the systemUPDATE-full517 in my computer,and then I changed the name called "SystemUpdate" , put it in "steamlink" folder .in this folder . i created an folder called "config" ,and in this folder,I created an "txt"called :"update_branch" typed "public"
SO i intalled my USB DRIVE ,and restarted my steamlink.to my sprised .it didn't update ,
Could you please tell me what should i do , thanks

The correct location on USB stick for the update file is:

\steamlink\SystemUpdate.zip

Do you have a ZIP file extension on the update file you are using?

What type of USB drive are you using and how big is it? Try to use a different one if you can.

It should be formatted with FAT32, it should NOT be formatted with exFAT.

i didn't extend the SystemUpdate.zip ,but my USB DRIVER is FAT not FAT32

my USB DRIVER is 1GB . I have changed to FAT32,but it still can't update

If you have another one, try a different USB stick.

Can you check the partition table of the USB stick? I assume you use Windows. Run the diskmgmt.msc tool:

start button -> Run - > diskmgmt.msc

The USB drive should have ideally only 1 partition with data on it. It will appear as 1 "block" like this:

Does yours look like this? If it has several partitions (more blocks), you could try to change the USB drive to have only 1 partition. This will delete all the data on the USB stick.

Or, just try a different USB stick that is already FAT32 with only 1 partition.
