Do you have a ZIP file extension on the update file you are using?
What type of USB drive are you using and how big is it? Try to use a different one if you can.
It should be formatted with FAT32, it should NOT be formatted with exFAT.
Can you check the partition table of the USB stick? I assume you use Windows. Run the diskmgmt.msc tool:
start button -> Run - > diskmgmt.msc
The USB drive should have ideally only 1 partition with data on it. It will appear as 1 "block" like this:

Does yours look like this? If it has several partitions (more blocks), you could try to change the USB drive to have only 1 partition. This will delete all the data on the USB stick.
Or, just try a different USB stick that is already FAT32 with only 1 partition.
