DualShock 4 CUH-ZCT2 support (PS4 Slim controller)
I purchased the new DS4 CUH-ZCT2 which is released together with the PS4 Slim and I can pair it with the Steam Link just fine. However, I believe there is something wrong with the key and stick mappings. R2 is detected as the 'Start' button and L2 acts like the right stick. This is the first time I am hooking a DS4 to the Link so I can't tell if X-Y-A-B mappings are correct. I have also read that rumble support for DS4 has recently been added but I couldn't get rumble working on my DS4.

Wobbles (developer of InputMapper) said that the new DS4 has a different product id and recently added support for it.

I also tried a wired Xbox 360 controller with the Link and there were no problems.

Same problem here...

I just tried hooking the DS4 via USB and the problem persists.

However, once the DS4 is connected via USB, audio is muted on the TV and is directed to the DS4! I didn't know the Link supported audio pass-through on the DS4 - does this only work on the CUH-ZCT2? Also, I could not find a way to switch audio back to the TV - not sure if such an option is implemented in the settings.

So could it be that this new DS4 controller is not supported fully by the Steam Link?

I have managed to get it to work correctly using InputMapper on the PC.

I've not had the problem with it removing the sound on my TV, but when plugged into my PC it becomes the default audio device and I then have to change the output device in sound settings.

Are you sure your DS4 is the new model? You can check it from the product code behind the controller - it should be CUH-ZCT2U if you are in North America.

Also, did you try connecting it to the Link via USB? When I turn on Link using DS4 via USB, audio output is from the DS4. I haven't tried connecting the DS4 after turning Link on using another controller. I am on beta build 540, btw.

Regarding InputMapper - support for the new DS4 was added a couple of weeks ago so it should work as intended on Windows.

Yep it's the new one. SN for me in the UK is CUH-ZCT2E. I'll see if I'm running the Beta on the Steam Link.

How do you connect your DS4 to the Link? Is it over Bluetooth or USB? I don't have sound output over Bluetooth - it only happens over USB.

Ar yes, that's right. I experience the same. The main issue I'm having is with the control mappings, They're all wrong as far as I can tell with the DS4V2.

Just switched to Beta 540. Same behaviour with the mappings. If the reason is that the V2 is not fully supported, then I guess I'm going to have to wait it out.

You still not got yours working correctly fehmi?

Nope, I haven't figured out a way to get correct mappings. AFAIK, rumble support for DS4v1 was added quite recently to the Link firmware but it doesn't work on the v2.

The last beta build 540 was released on September 2 but the new PS4 Slim & the new DS4 wasn't out until mid September. So it is not really surprising that it is not properly supported yet.

It looks like it is potentially something we are going to have to wait for then.

A bit of a bummer as I bought these controllers specifically to use with the Steam Link. At least I can use them with my PC for now.

I had missed this thread, I'll follow it too from now on. I think it's just a matter of waiting a bit, anyway.

Beta build 546 added support for the new DS4! All button, trigger, and stick mappings are correct. I can turn on the Link using the DS4 over Bluetooth and the DS4 is automatically turned off upon exit.

However, I do not get rumble in any game I have tried (Rocket League, Broforce, Talos Principle, Transformers: Devastation). Rumble works on my wired 360 controller and I have also double-checked the games' settings. Can you check if rumble works for you? I believe rumble is supported on the original DS4 but unfortunately, I do not have the original controller to test.

I got the update to 546, the new DS4 works and I also got no rumble in PES 2017. Does rumble work with any wireless controller, apart from the Steam one? I thought not. It definitely works with a wired PS3 controller.

I have read that rumble support for the original DS4 was recently added but I cannot confirm as I don't have the original controller.

So glad the controller is now supported! Off to give it a try!
