Please Sticky: GOG and Origin In-game Overlays cause lag and controller issues

I've been struggling getting Witcher 3 (GOG) and Mirror's Edge Catalyst (Origin) to work well and finally worked out that the culprit is the 3rd party in-game overlays. In both cases there was unexplained poor performance and controller issues that were instantly fixed by disabling the overlays.

For Witcher 3 this can be fixed by removing the "Game Overlay" DLC via the GOG Galaxy client. Other GOG games probably aren't affected as this appears to be game specific.

Mirror's Edge Catalyst (and other Origin games) can be fixed by opening the Origin client, then go to "Application Settings", then" Origin In-game" (you may need to click More to see it), then disable "Enable Origin In-game".

Origin overlay doesnt shutting down after using that option, it writes every time about SHIFT+F1, and it is working. Tested right now.
