Steam Link
Resolution / display bug with Rocket League
Hi all,
I have an odd bug when playing Rocket League with the Steam Link. When I start the game, it displays perfectly on my computer screen but on the TV via the steam link i get a square display with only part of the screen (I'll get a screen shot if that's not clear). I have to go on the pc and change the display settings (usually to windowed and back to full screen) and then the display is fine again.
Is anyone experiencing this as well. It was fine at first and then started doing this after a Steam update.

Rocket League is the only game that has this problem so far.
I am playing with an Ubuntu 16.04 computer.
Thanks for the help.

got the same problem with Rocketleague, on my steam link, and my computer on Mint 18..
I have this problem too. My platform: Gnome Ubuntu 16.10 + RadeonSI drivers. Other games work flawlessly.
I found probably a better workaround for this issue (you don't need to go to host PC). After start a game please click a Steam icon on your Steam Controller and after that select 'return' to game in a Steam BigMode menu. It looks like this issue also prevents Steam Overlay to work properly eg. FPS counter in a bad place (in this case you need to press Shift+Tab and 'return' to game).

Hey thanks for that, I'll try it again next time I play and let you know if it worked for me !
I have the same issue. (kubuntu 16.04.2). game starts and runs fine on host (I can use bluetooth controller paired to steam link box and watch my PC to play fine). Steam link jumps to 512x512 resolution and only shows like the corner of the host's screen. (that happens to be the same resolution as the RL splash screen). GTX980 with nvidia binary drivers, FWIW
So pressing the steam button to go into the steam overlay and then going back to the game fixies it for me now.
That similarly helped me find the solution that worked for me. I'm using a PS4 controller (DS4/Dualshock4). I went into the steam controller config and set PS+options button to toggle the "ALT" key, then PS+share button to be "TAB". so I can ALT-TAB out and back in. doing this, I'm able to get the stream to be 1080 again and it plays very well.

Wanted to note that I had a specific issue with an OSD application (overwolf). Everything would work right up until the splash screen where it would stop updating video on the TV, although everything on the PC was working fine. I re-logged into windows, disabled it, then tried again and everything was good.

Worth checking to make sure you have any OSD software disabled (nvidia, radeon, overwolf, mumble, etc.) or check the hook levels to see if a higher level hook plays nicer.
Hello,
You need to repress the steam / Microsoft button.
It's working fine for me (Linux).
