How to turn PS3 controller off?

I don´t know how to turn the controller off, and since my PS3 and the Steam Link are in the same room, if i disconnect the controller from the link without turning it off , my PS3 turns on, which is very weird and annoying. Its a wired controller btw.

Yeah i didnt know i had to unpair it. So i just tried that, and i cant get it to unpair tho, supposedly i should press the reset button on the back of the controller but it doesnt work, the controller is still paired to the PS3. Am i doing something wrong? Is there a way to just turn the controller off from the Steam Link?

i dont think there isna way to do that as i dont own a PS3 correct me if i am wrong

I realize that this topic may be dead. But i figured out how to turn off the ps3 controller. Hold the moiddle ps button until the controller turns off. I hope this helps someone.
