recommended upload and download speed?

I just bought the steam link on ebay when I heard the news about steam link anywhere! For those who have already tested it, what kind of upload speed you need on your home network and what kind of speed on your remote network? Thanks! very excited to give it a try!

it uses about 50mb/s up and <5mb/s down from the host to the link
any wired lan is fine (the link has a 10/100mb lan port)
wifi can be good if signal is good and it ahs a constant conneciton speed thats over 50mb/s with very little lag

if you want to host across the internet you need to forward ports
be srue to use set a pin in steam, else anyone that can guess/grab your ip can connect and control your pc
internet upload speed will need to be atleast 50+mb/s with low latency

Damn 50 mbps upload is a lot. Thanks for the infos. Most of the time I will use it on LAN I guess.

50 for best quality settings (beautiful & unlimited bandwith) for lowest quality 10 mbps upload should be ok, i have not tested it over internet yet, waiting for stable build

Bandwidth is configurable and ranges anywhere from 3 to 50Mbps. You can set it according to your own preference for quality and bandwidth limits. 3Mbps looks pretty terrible for anything with a lot of motion, but is probably fine for simpler games like Into The Breach or whatever.
