No Steam Link on 2022 Samsung TV
Hi,

just got my brand new Samsung TV yesterday, 2022 Version of "The Frame".
Model Number is GQ65LS03BAUXZG.

When I go into the TVs Apps Store Search, Steam Link is not available. Has it to be enabled first for brand new TVs?

Then I'd need to factory reset to obtain the app and factory reset to switch back, as far as I can see. Then I'm back to where I started. And as the 2022 brings a new Smart Hub to the TV, I'm not sure it's just a region code issue. (Can someone confirm SL being available in the US on 2022 models?)

I'd just like to know if we can expect to Sl become available shortly for the new Samsung TV generation.

you dont need to change region back to yours, keep it in usa and it can have most apps installed

or if there is a way to sideload the app, you can grab the apk from steam

Then other region dependent apps would be missing. Germany is generally eligible for Steam link app, no problem on my 2019 TV. Hence, do you actually know that SL is available in the US for 2022 models?

Sideloading apk is for android. Samsung TV is running Tizen.

Just got my 2022 frame. No Steam Link available in the app store in the US. I'm guessing this is intentional, since they are launching the samsung gaming hub at some point.

Might be, but first it'd be nice if either steam or samsung made a clear statement about that; on the other hand there are some problems with the app store (e.g. german users complaining that they can't update to and therefore not use the latest version of the preinstalled T-Entertain TVoD-app) and it seems rather empty. Might also be an issue that the new UI version is not yet marked as compatible for many apps. At least, when I browse through the app store on my 2020 model, there are MANY more apps in every category than on my 2022 version.

And well, Steam and Samsung Support play a blame game. Samsung says its a 3rd party app, ask steam. Steam support says it's Samsungs app store and they have no influence.
Neither is helpful at all (and modt likely both are nit entitely correct).

Still no change, still not available. Hello, Steam, anyone noticed this? Anyone working on this? :-(

also on my new tv SAMSUNG QE43QN90BATXZT there is no steam link app, I was very disappointed, I hope that in the future it will be included

I bought a Samsung BU8000 recently and it doesn't have the steam link app; I even changed the region to USA and got the new gaming hub (with access to my pc game pass, apparently), but still no steam link :(

edit: just to say i live in brazil

I have the same problem. Only programs appear to install in the gaming hub is Xbox Game Cloud, GeForceNow and Twitch.

I updated my TV yesterday. On my Samsung 2020 the app is available.

They should really update the steam link page with correct information. Cant find the app at all on 2022 Samsung Q60B - UK region

I just came home with new Samsung QE65QN85B and no Steam link as well (CZ). However on 2 years old model my brother can see it in apps normally. Damn 😢

EDIT: Today I visited Samsung store and also contacted online Samsung support.
Samsung guy 1 (at shop): "Older models had licences for steam link which is allready expired... new models do not have it anymore so he doubt there will be this app avialable."
Samsung guy 2 (online): "The TV is new model and there is a possibility steam link will be there in some time".

Yea just hooked up my new "upgrade" and am having the same issue...any idea on a fix? Doing the region change seems to be the only thing that might work but that also seems like a pain in the ass for what could be nothing.

NOT SOLVED cause you have terrible lag with that method!
