Keeps asking me to enter pin

Struggling with steam link, after the link connecting to pc, the link showing a four digit pin on the tv, i go upstaris to computer enter the pin shown and all appears fine, but then whenever I try to connect the steamlink on tv to computer it requests a pin, I enter a pin and it just repeats - keeps on asking for a pin?

Ive tried resetting the steamlink, reinstalling steam, entering a pin on the computer, but all with no success, even tried setting the steamlink to beta mode ?

oh also disables defender on pc incase was blocking some popup? but as said the first code the link gives out on tv I could enter on PC

any ideas? thanks

Oh after resetting the steam link I have fully updated it

Go to "Steam - Settings - In-Home-Streaming". There's a button to input pin code, maybe that will help. Also make sure your Link is at latest build, which is 661.

SOLVED - thankyou - I had previously tried setting a pin within steam but this didn't work.

The solution was indeed as below - go to change the pin and leave it blank

steam -> settings -> remote play -> [set security code] -> (leave blank) -> ok

did you pair the device?
link app gives a pairing code, enter that on host
steam -> settings -> remote play -> [pair steam link]

or is the link app asking for a code?
steam -> settings -> remote play -> [set security code]
this is the connect code. if set blank the client should not ask for one
and make sure the client is listed on the host devices
