Xbox Series X Controller + Apple TV not working in Big Screen

Paired my Xbox Series X Controller to Apple TV via bluetooth. Apple TV said I needed a firmware update on the controller to fully use it, so I plugged it into my PC and updated it. I enabled General and Xbox controller support inside of Steam on my PC. All good. I can navigate around the Apple TV interface, it even works in the Steam Link launcher. When I see my PC, there is a controller icon in the upper left of the "Play" box and it is crossed out with a red line. On the right of that box with the status, there is a green check mark next to Xbox Series X Controller. So, the controller works inside the Steam Link launcher and I can navigate to my PC, however once I launch into my PC, it no longer works inside the Big Screen interface. If I take this same controller to my PC and plug it in with USB-C it works fine on my PC, and in Big Screen, and in games. Any ideas what is going on? I have seen reports of issues with Xbox Series X on the physical Steam Link hardware....are these issues deeper than that, and with the Steam Link software itself?

Well it works fine in Moonlight....which has actually been a better experience than I have with Steam Link. So for anyone struggling...give Moonlight a shot.
