Steam Link

Steam Link

Virtual keyboard opens when I hit left or right on the left stick
I have a physical steam link, rather than an app.-

It used to be that the virtual keyboard would open when I pressed down the right stick (using it as a button), but since the last update whenever I hit left or right on the stick the virtual keyboard pops open.
I'm using a Logitech F710 and what makes me think that this is a software rather than a hardware issue is that that controller lets me swap the functionality of the left stick and the d-pad with a button press. And when I do that now the virtual keyboard opens when I hit left or right on the d-pad. This is rather annoying as I mostly use my steamlink to watch movies and youtube on my non-smart TV, and hitting left and right is used to jump ahead/back in the video.

Anyone know if there's some setting where I can change things back to how they used to be?

I have exactly the same issue with the same gamepad.

does the keyboard appear on the host display or just the link?

on the host, check the mappings in windows

only on link, try disabling the links virtual keyboard overlay

It only happens when the steamlink is running, but the steamlink just mirrors (or I guess more accurately just streams) what happen on the main display.

I don't want to disable the virtual keyboard, just make it work the way it did before, when you press down the left stick it opens. Still don't want to go to my PC whenever I need to look for a new youtube video

check steams desktop controller bindings

begin streaming -> steam -> settings -> controller -> [desktop] and [bpm]
make sure its bound the way you want

They are bound correct (and I rebound the keys just to be on the safe side). Also, I double checked to make sure that Windows does not think I press down multiple keys at once for some reason, and it does not, it only registers that I press the directions on the stick when the virtual keyboard pops up.
