Not getting full screen samsung tab a7
Bought a new Samsung tablet a7 yesterday as I've been using my s10 phone to play games on while chilling away from my pc.
My phone works fine, apart from everything being really small hence the screen size upgrade.
Problem I've got is I cannot see the whole screen on the a7 and cannot access certain in game features like ui bars etc.
At first it wouldn't work at all until i changed the resolution. I assume my phone res is high cos I've had to make no changes to that. The a7 has a 2000x1200 res and my monitor for my pc is a 3440x1440p. If I selected display res it won't work at all. If I select anything over 1080 it doesn't work. I've played around with the steam settings regarding remote play and adjusting resolutions between the 2 but I cannot get the a7 to go full screen and allow me to see everything that is appearing on my pc monitor.
Has anyone else had this issue or know the solution? Fuming as I've just forked out 220 quid for a tablet which now could be rendered useless
Thanks

most tabs/phones do not use standard screen res
look up the specs for the device, and find its native res
then create a res with that profile on the host in amd/nvidia/intel control panels

steam -> settings -> remote play -> [advanced host options] -> tick the box to change res to match client

I've already done and tried this. I've gone into the nvidia control panel and made a custom res of 2000x1200. Changed the res to that and then tried loading steam link at display resolution and it didn't work. Just keeps flickering and then rebooting back to the start screen

change windows res to the connected displays native
let steam change the res to match the client when it begins streaming

try going to nvidia control panel -> size/position -> tick full screen, scaling on gpu

Thanks for your help by the way.

We're getting somewhere. It'll now load on the big picture steam screen. After setting up custom res, ticking the match res to client box and following ur above comment regarding size and position. Im trying to play banished, a city builder game. It just won't load into the game still at that res.
In the big picture screen there is still a ratio difference between the 2. I cannot see the bottom of the screen

There's a box in the control panel that says,

Override the scaling set by games and programs

That is unticked, should it be?

If I manually lower the res on the game to 1920x1080 it loads straight in but again I cannot see the bottom of the screen

So frustrating, I've literally just tried a load of different settings but whatever i do it'll either won't work due to res issue or cut the bottom of the screen off even when set in its native 2000x1200

since steam bpm works, its an issue with the game not supporting all aspect ratios

does the game support windowed mode or full screen maximized? using desktop res

It supports both full screen and windowed

Ok so I've just loaded up medieval dynasty which has a good array of aspect ratios and screen sizes and it still has the same issue. I can get the game to work but with the bottom of the screen still missing

is it the android menu/button bars or notches in the way?

Nothing is in the way, I can only see the top 2 thirds of the screen. Its as if the ratio is wrong and not allowing me to see the bottom of the screen. With banished there is a toolbar at the bottom right of the screen but I can't see it. Medieval dynasty I couldn't see the buttons at the bottom to select accept or reject. Hidden from my view.
Its obviously summin to do with res and ratio as my Samsung s10 phone works fine. Just really small and hard to see on a 5.5 inch screen

I have the same issue with my new Samsung Tab A7.

It seems like there's a bug in how the image scales to fit the screen. I have gone through Nvidia screen settings, Windows scaling and all Steam Remote Play and Big picture assosiated settings and haven't found a fix.

For comparison my Galaxy A20e phone works fine with no issue, even without tinkering with any related settings.

As such i would assume there is some compatibility issue with the new Tab A7.
