But where the real money is at... the Steam link app for newer Samsung Smart TV's. Holy sh!t did they ever improve the quality. Almost 1 to 1. Plus the Samsung App can do 4K. If that's an option, get it.
I think the hardware within the Steam Link is now dated and old. Once they come out with a new 4K set top option, it'll be much better but for now, the Steam Link app is the way to go.
check the tv settings, disable all image processing on it and put it to game mode
even on wifi link has a very small delay, under 1 frame behind the pc
but the tv can delay that signal 1000+ms for image smoothing, soap opera effects, jpg noise reduction and 60-120hz conversion
In every way wifi is always worse than a wire, no matter if you can have a higher throughput.
with link wifi i notice no lag/difference than other pc on lan
just make sure that there is little wifi interference and the tv has no input delay and all games will be playable
Tell me more. I've got a Samsung smart TV and I did see the news about the app. But I figured it was just an easy way to pair the Link with the PC. Does it actually change how the Link interfaces with the TV and the home network?
