My Hori HRAP V is unresponsive as well. Seems like whatever recent update happened knocked everything out of whack.
Close to calling it quits on this device entirely.
EDIT - Tried the setting in-game and in the stream menu. No difference.
I think something else is going on just not sure what or how else to fix it. It's too bad since I really enjoyed expanding my PC gaming to experience to a larger monitor.
Thanks!
same issus here since this weed-end.
My steam controller work perferctly but PS3 and PS4 controller doesn't work (work only on menu but no in game).
My PS3 and PS4 controller are detected as "General Xinput Device", before the problem, steam detected as "PS3 Controller"..
I have tried Beta/public of steam client/link.
I have tried updating the client. I was able to get a few of my recent games to work, although, not without some flaw. Bayonetta reads the DS4 as a K&M, as does Dragons Dogma. Deadpool seems to work fine.
I'm guessing it has something to do with the explicit registration of the devises. Is there any way to DE-register the DS4back to and unregistered state? I believe that is the best way forward, as that is what it says when I am not streaming and plugged in directly to my PC with any of my controllers.
EDIT = The only other thing I can think of is would the windows D Xinput tool be interfering somehow with Steam Link while streaming? Running out of ideas and patience. I really don't want to be forced into buying a Steam controller
This will allow you to set whatever configuration you'd like for each game, but that includes mouse and keyboard settings.
If you uncheck PS4 configuration support, it should behave as it did previously via the Link.

There are a few other games that will not recognize controllers unless you "opt in" to the new controller config support option. and some that won't work no matter what you do. Past that, you may need to follow SDalton's instructions and uncheck the any specific controller support so that Steam Link will recognize it only as a generic controller. I think.
