Can't pair Third Party Wii U Pro Controllers

Hello

I am using build 554. I have a Nyko Pro Commander and an Afterglow Pro Controller for Wii U. Neither of them is pairing with Steam Link. My original Wii U Pro Controller paired just fine.

I have tried unpairing the original one and pressing the sync button on one of the third party controllers to see if Steam Link detects them, but no luck so far.

Anyone had success pairing third party Wii U Pro controllers?

I would really like to keep the original one paired to the Wii U and one of the third party ones on Steam Link.

Most third party Wii U Pro Controllers seem to be non-discoverable or hidden from everything except the Wii U

I wonder if there is a signal sent by the Wii U when waiting for a controller to pair that the third party controllers expect in order to "unhide", or if there would be a way to find out what is the third party controller sending and hack our way through.
