PS4 controller registering twice

I unplugged my PS4 controllers in and out and now they each register twice in steam. With the steam link on and the controllers plugged into it without streaming everything works fine. When I connect to a computer for steam instead of the two controllers I have it registers as four. Then when ever I push a button it registers twice in big screen mode and in game. Disconnecting a single controller still leaves the other controller with two inputs under controller. I see comments from 2015 about this sort of problem, but nothing recent. Anyone else having this issue or have ideas?

I had a similar problem (DS4 registering twice, making it impossible to use BPM through the Steam Link because of double inputs). I solved it by opting out of the Steam Client Beta.

you go to setting in the steam tab left upside corner and in the first thing you have account with all your information look down you will see beta participation change it to not participating
it helped me

I also have the same issue and was already opted out. This did not happen to me 6 months ago when i played with the same setup.

Same issue and was never in the Steam beta. Today im getting double DS4 detections on a single controller. Going in or out of beta does nothing.

Tried opting in and out of beta program and still have this issue. Really frustating nothing seems to be working for me. Was fine for me earlier in the day.

Nevermind. Yesterday it worked, but today it's the same problem again. Everything registering twice
