Steam Link
Steam Link app for Saphi platform on Philips TV?
I got a Philips 70PUS6504/12 tv and I would love to see Steam Link available on its Saphi platform.

A friend of mine has an Android based Philips tv and Steam Link works perfect on his hardware, including 4K/60 HEVC. It worked better than I expected. :D:

I am joining. The app needs to be developed for Saphi OS!
Hi, I am also asking for help how to run Steam Linik on PHILIPS 65PUS7855 / 12 :cozywolfensteinII:
Hi I am thinking of buying a TV based on Saphi. Is Steamlink available yet? If not, I won't buy it.
tv apps are not very well supported
many have poor controller support, limited # or non ms/sony controllers may not work properly
Isn't controller mapping on hosts end?

the device needs to see the controllers before it can send its controls to the host
Is then simply bluetooth 4.1 sufficient?
no
the tv needs to know how to handle the controllers
bt versions are just a communication standard, not commands

Means Phillips Android OS knows how to work with controllers?

no, hes using the steam link hardware

the tv would need to know how to identify and use the controllers
Ah, must have over read it. Steamlink device are not buyable anymore, and I dont want to set up another Pi. We'll see. I just ordered 55OLED705/12. Comes on Wednesday. Couldn't find any information, if that one supports controller or not.

Wait a secound: periphery deviced get handled by the kernel ofc, which is an Android in this case. Android always supported controllers. Shouidn't be too much of a problem thinking about it.

Android TV shouldn't be a problem. You could download the Steam Link app there, just like with the latest Chromecast with Google TV. Your Android TV device needs to support BT though.

This thread was meant for the Saphi platform since TCL (using the Philips license) are offering TV's in 2 flavours: Android TV or with Saphi.

I'm not counting on it anymore. I still have my Philips TV with Saphi, but moved on to CCwGTV using the Android app. Works fine for me.
