Steam app for Amazon Fire TV

I have been looking to see if I can get the Steam App on my Amazon Fire TV. I have an older Sony Bravia and do not think I can use the TV's apps. If I can get the app installed on Amazon Fire TV then I want to use the Steam Controller.

amazon uses the google store apps, but with a very long delay (1+ year or more)

they are very slow to get apps on the amazon store along with the app updates

It's my understanding that you can sideload the Steam app to firstick and it works perfectly.

On Amazon store on your stick you need to get the 'Downloader' App. Make sure you've turned on 'Allow app installation from external sources' in the developer setting menu too.

Then you just need to find the URL of the APK for the steam app, put it into the Downloader app and you can install from there.

I've done this with other apps but haven't gotten around to sorting Steam out on it yet. Might be a job for tonight.

I've got it running on a 4K stick and a FireTV Pendant, it works really well. You will need to side load it like LizTheKid said, you can either use Downloader app on the firestick or you can use adbFire (http://www.jocala.com) from the PC.

I currently use an XBOX One controller (PS4 controllers lag like crazy with the FireStick) but I've just bought a couple of Steam controllers in the sale to try them out.
