A blast from the past - Madden 08

All the buzz about madden 19 got me digging out my old copy of Madden08. Figured this was an ideal game for the Steam link but having no luck so far.

Added as a non steam game no problem. Launches ok but then I run into issues. The initial "Click to start" works ok with a mouse plugged into the link but then I cant get through the menus. Mouse cursor seems to move (a check on pc shows it hasnt though) but no response to clicks.

I thought maybe I could start a game from the pc then play it via the link but neither the steam controller or me preferred option Xbox one show as an input option when choosing teams.

Know it's a stretch being such an old game and a non steam one at that, but anyone else had any luck getting this to work?

Should probably add that playing it directly as a non-steam game works fine and the controller is picked up without any problem. For a 10 year old game it's still pretty fun.

I play Madden 08 on my steam link. I have a bluetooth keyboard and mouse on my computer in the basement, i bring the mouse up to the living room to launch it. You can also have one connected to the link and it works. I did have to run steam in administrator mode to get the link to pass the controllers I have on the link to be seen Madden08.
