Problems with 5:4 Aspect Ratio (1280x1024)

I have a device with a monitor set to 1280x1024 connected to my Steam Link device, which is streaming from a computer with a monitor set to 1280x1024. However, the Steam Link itself seems to only support 16:9 aspect ratios, not even 4:3. This would matter much to me as long as the games would be able to stream in a 5:4 resolution, but it seems that the Steam Link resolution also determines the aspect ratio of Big Picture as well as any games you play. So my question boils down to: is there any way to add a custom resolution or any sort of support for 5:4 (or even 4:3) resolutions to Steam Link?

In case anyone is wondering, this 5:4 monitor is for my arcade box. I guess 5:4 is pretty common for arcades, and I think arcades are an ideal use case for Steam Link, so I hope the value can been seen in having support for 5:4.

That was already set. And regardless, isn't that changing the setting on the host machine? So I don't think it has any affect since that's strictly a client setting.

I don't know if it has changed since, but as of Jan 2017 there were no supported 4:3 or 5:4 resolutions.

Yeah, I posted on that thread earlier today in search of an answer. But as Xjph pointed out, the Steam Link only supports 16:9 aspect ratios. Apparently the Raspberry Pi gets around that limitation, but the Steam Link hardware appears to only output in 16:9 :(

Maybe it's time for me to put my Raspberry Pi to use.
