Steam Link

Steam Link

Will the steam link work for my setup?
Really hoping this question doesn't sound stupid, but I can't seem to find a clear answer anywhere since my setup isn't exactly the norm.

I have two computers in the house. The one downstairs is the business computer and is where the router is located. Upstairs, I have the gaming rig, which is connected via Ethernet cable to the router downstairs. I want to use the steam link to stream games from the gaming rig to a different room upstairs.

Is this at all possible?:TheDog:

yeah, i jst got mine today and also am a little 'confussed'. Now bought the thing because it says multiple times 'any TV' (and so they should have made just as clear' not anycomputer'!!). It really does not help me to hook it to the desktop upstairs (am I right in assuming it has to work w/ the computer that is hardwired to the router??) because my computer is not upstairs. And please dont give me crap about netweork bridges, etc as you do not supply them)(and please get a phome # we can call, especially now that you have expanded into the realm or hardware). I mean granted, the thing was cheap, but the tiime i have wasted in it already and the time needed to send it back.....is that not worth anything?? Guess not.
Thanks,
Ryan
REPEAT: DO YOU HAVE TO HOOK IT TO THE ROUTER, AS WLL??
Please advise.
Its recommended that you are wired but you can connect the link wirelessly to the network. You don't need to be in the same room as the host machine.
