Steam Link

70 Mbps connection enough for wifi?
So I want a Steam Link for my 1080p TV in my living room, but it's gonna be impossible to get a wired ethernet connection without drilling a hole through a wall, even though literally everyone seems to say wired or bust for the Steam Link. My download speed according to the OOKLA speed test is exactly 70 Mbps and controller latency isn't an issue since I bought the new Xbox One controller with bluetooth, but I have a couple USB extenders just incase. Can anyone with very good internet connections like mine inform me about their experiences using wifi on the Steam Link?

Download speed dont matter at all
It about the signal and stabilite from the pc over the router to steam link

You dont stream games over the internet, but from the local computer

You know what steam link are?

No need wall drillings.
Power line adapters is alternative solution to have wired ethernet connections.
Just plug&play one button pairings.

As this fine gentleman has stated this is what I use. I even play my emulators via tv now. Steam controller + steam link is awesome for this!

Hmm, i've always believed that my download speed reflected my overall internet connection. I can download everything at a rate of 8.9 mbps, so I've thought that was the factor of everything involving my internet. Can you explain to me what would affect my streaming quality? My streaming comp has an i5-2400, an rx 470 4gb model, and 8gb of RAM.

Dang this is my first hearing about this device. Which one do you use? I looked it up and found the TP-link V500 is the #1 Amazon bestseller, would this one do fine? I don't know ♥♥♥♥ about these adapters since I never heard of them.

My Link collected dust over six months due to poor wifi connections.
I had a zero experience before I bought (model : TP-Link TL-PA411) these adapters.
How I decided my current model ? I picked cheapest ones :)

5 / 5 stars

Trivia ! Transmitting data through electric cabels has a history of many decades so this is not a new thing. Only commercials models are rather new.
