lets see what for update we receive on steam link...
I have already posted a working solution for using unofficial controllers with steam link (via USB here, scptoolkit, and a wifi dongle) in this post.
Model number is CECHZC2H A1.
Tried Link builds 648, 645 and stable.
Also Steam Link sometimes crash when I try to config that controller wired.
Read the rest of the thread - unofficial controllers don't work reliably with the steam link without the workaround I mentioned - and that workaround includes a dedicated bluetooth dongle (via scp toolkit) that will be useless for other purposes after modifications. Since one has said they couldn't get the method to work (I have it working with multiple controllers on multiple computers), here is a more specific outline of how to get it working on pc.[kunmii.blogspot.com]
This post outlines how to get past a common sticking point.[www.digitaltrends.com]
After you've got wireless on the pc, you can grab VirtualHere [www.virtualhere.com] to use that same wireless dongle with your steam link. The program costs a burger last I checked. You'll need to activate the wireless dongle in the VirtualHere settings of your steam link before you can use it. Turn the controller on to use it, and make sure to follow instructions in the post above for general use.
I also just got two fake controllers that will not connect wirelessly. Thank you so much for your links. Could you tell me how to implement those patches?
There is another solution to use these controllers, described in another thread:

Basically you need a BT dongle, scptoolkit installed and configured for these controllers(paired) and virtualhere. It is harder to setup but it works for me and it is free if you have a BT dongle to spare.
I'm confused. I've outlined this method several times now (in this post for example), but I've not seen any responses to my posts - is there something lacking in my explanation?
