Seems kind of a pain to have to unplug my comps audio every time I use SL and then have to plug back in after, I hope theres a better way around that if this is even a solution.
Also check 'Playback Devices' on your pc (right click the wee audio icon on the windows taskbar and access from there). Whilst in there, Make sure the default playback device is set to your soundcard/usb headphones. Highlight your default device and 'Configure' to check that it is using stereo output and not 5.1/7.1 . Done that? connect to pc from the link, exit big picture mode (power button on top right of screen). Use your controller/mouse to right click the wee audio icon again and 'open volume mixer'. Make sure that all the playback devices listed have high volume output on their sliders.
Side note: If you have third party sound manager on your pc, like an Asus/realtek audio manager, make sure that it doesn't automatically revert any of the output settings you have set back to 5.1 etc.
Give that a go and let us know how you got on, cheers Danny.
Ive looked at the settings again and i must be blind or stupid, but I cant find anywhere to change that in the steam link. Can you PLEASE tell me how to get to that so I can try it?
3 options now, click the box next to 'sound configuration' make sure it is set to 'Stereo'
Middle option only turns off the background wailing noise from the link menus, I disable that as par for the course.
Third one is 'External Speaker Volume/output' I set that to 80.
That's about it really. Let us know how you get on, cheers Danny..
checked my Audio Mixer (Sound is muted on PC) and within the Audio Mixer I realized that at some point I must have lowered the Steam Sound Output group... solved ^^
Всё проверил, всё прошерстил, все настройки, чуть ли не до обновления драйверов добрался - звук всё равно настолько тихий, что едва слышно.
while streaming, hold home/ps/xbox button, or esc on keyboard, then turn up its volumes
