Do i need a good PC to run the games ?

I just discovered this thanks to the sale. Im wondering if the computer needed for it needs to be albe to play the game i want to have on my tv screen or the SteamLink runs it itself ? Because my gaming PC is in another floor, and cannot be linked to the tv. However, if i need just a little laptop able to run steam, that would be great.
Just for example, if i wanna play rocket league, do i need a laptop able to run RL?

The steam link simply makes it so you can play your PC steam games on another television. Your PC is still running the games. So yes, you need a computer capable of running the games.

The Steam Link can only run games as well as your PC can run games, since its just mirroring what your PC is doing, over to a TV.
