Dualshock 4 controllers stop working when streaming starts.

I got a Steam Link recently and haven't used it a great deal. I really really like it when everything works right. But I've been having a lot of trouble connecting controllers. A few days ago I finally, finally thought I got the PS4 controllers working. Then I resynched them to the PS4 to play on there. When I went back to the Steam Link yesterday, I connected one in the normal way and it worked like normal in the Steam Link menu (shows up in Bluetooth menu, all buttons work in the test screen). As soon as I hit the button to connect to the PC and Big Picture starts though, it stops working. The little popups saying it's a PS4 controller and is using settings from my account or whatever come up, but no matter what I've done, no button inputs work at all.

I've tried two DS4s, unplugged the Steam Link overnight and tried the next day, updated to beta build, restored to factory settings, reset the controllers with a pin, reconnected and reconnected and reconnected, restarted PC, removed controllers from Bluetooth menu and resynced. Plugged the controllers in through USB. They stop working once streaming starts plugged in too. I don't know what else to do. They DID work, before. I tried syncing a DS3 I've got and it works right away. I'd just use that, but the controller is very old and makes button inputs by itself a lot.

Any help at all would be great.

Well. I noticed today that in the part of the Steam Link OS where you can map the buttons that when it gets to the left analog stick none of the inputs work. The stick still works to navigate the menus outside of that screen, but this is the first indication things are wonky before streaming even starts.

I've been having the same problem intermittently since the update that has made the PS4 popup start coming up. Looking for a solution.

Having the same issue. My DS4 no longer works beyond the Steam Link menus.. once I connect to Big Picture mode, the PS4 pop up appears bottom right, but otherwise the controller no longer works and I am forced to pull the plug on the Steam Link.

EDIT: It looks like I was able to solve this by exiting Input Mapper on my PC- not sure if this is a permanent fix.. will update here if that did not solve the problem.

I'm having the same problem, also looking for a fix. I think it stopped working after an update on the Steam Client.

EDIT: As dasilvetz suggested above, exiting DS4Windows fixed it for me.

The next beta will have a fix for this issue. Right now we are ignoring PS4 controller when Inputmapper or DS4Windows is running, but this should only happen for locally connected controllers and not streaming ones. Thanks for reporting the issue.

I found the same fix, stopped DS4 XInput Tool and the controllers worked again.
