Steam Link

"Computer is locked" issue.
Every now and then when my computer decides to bring a system menu with (Yes -No) , or ask for any kind of permission and it kicks me off the stream and I cannot do anything until I go to the next room and click on that menu or log with TW and do the same.

Example I log in with TW to adjust something, when I quit, TW menu comes up with message to visit their site and Stream Stream locks me out and stays with that message below my computer name in the steam menu "Computer Locked".

Example 2- I start a game for a first time, then a direct X pops up to update itself or visualC, again I am locked off.

I already authorized with code, it is the same as GFExperience, but there you have a full control of your pc, even when computer starts and it is on the password screen I can log in with GFE, but not with SteamLink.

Is there a way to be able to have full control without removing my passwords and lower the permission control from windows? After all I want it there, because it saved me a lot of times and also if I leave my pc it locks itself which I want if someone tries to remotely do something, it is one more protection to have.

Thanks in advance.

I use teamviewer to remote access my pc if a yes or no confirmation pops up, it's totally free and the app works great too. Job done

Yes I said the same TW=Teamviewer, the problem is when I exit from teamviewer, pop up window appears and it locks me from my pc in SteamLink, then I connect back, I remove the pop up window, I exit, the pop up window appears again and it kicks me back to locked* .. It's ridiculous :D !

Also the same in login, I connect with TW, enter my password, I get to desktop, I quit TW it locks my pc again to password screen and can not stream my pc to Steamlink because it's locked.... Just drives me crazy

Sounds like your security is set too high or your not the admin perhaps

Non-admin processes, like steam, cannot interact with admin level processes, like teamviewer. This is by design. You can work around this be running Steam as admin, but it's not a solution I'd recommend, and it doesn't sound like something you want to do either.

That said... Steam should be able to gracefully handle DirectX/VC++/etc first time install stuff through the admin level service it has for exactly that reason. You shouldn't get any UAC prompts from Steam for the first time setup of a game.

It is a fact I do get UAC prompts all the time. Anyway, I will try to figure it out without lowering the default UAC security level.

You CANNOT run Steam on a headless PC and connect to it via Steam Link. If you do not have at least one monitor hooked up, Steam will continue to insist the PC is locked even if you connect to it via TeamViewer, RDP, or VNC.

A headless setup isn't strictly impossible, you just need the computer to think there's a monitor attached. There's literally a pinned topic about this.

Deleted my post because you are correct, but for me it's impossible due to the GPOs in play on my home domain.
