Streaming Mass Effect Andromeda - Audio works, video doesn't
I need help for an issue I'm experiencing trying to play Mass Effect Andromeda over my Steam Link.

From prior research, I gathered I need to disable the Origin overlay in ME:A in order for it to work. I added ME:A to my Steam library.

The game will launch and I will hear the audio for the menu come through my TV, but all I see is a black screen with a mouse cursor. The game's menu appears on one of my PC monitors, but no sound plays.

I'm running Win7, PS4 controller wired to Steam Link. AMD RX 480 (8GB) GPU. 16 GB RAM.

A link to my streaming_log file is here: http://paste2.org/v133XnsC

Can anyone please help? I'm happy to provide any additional info that's needed

Hi there, you can try to set origin.exe to WinXP compatibility mode. For me it worked with Win 7 compatibility mode on Win 8.1. I can even use fullscreen mode with this setting. Otherwise it works only with borderless windowed but then the PS4 controller works as a mouse.

The only problem I've got, is a bad performance using steam link. Using Origin only I can play MEA with 60fps on Ultra.

I've got in home streaming to work but it took some work. I had to do the following:
1 - exit origin (you have to do this every time after you exit the game)
2 - launch steam as administrator
3 - ensure hardware encoding is not running of your gpu(I use my integrated gpu)
4 - turn off amd external events service. Even if you have an nvidia card a game may have installed this. You can see it under the programmes tab when you ctrl alt del.
5 - I also turned off hardware encoding on my client machine when I did step 4 but I don't think this made a difference.
6 - turn off all origin in game features.

All of the above let me play the game with a controller without any stutter. My server cpu was an i5 4690k and r9 390x. Hope this helps.

I wonder if this is a Windows 7 problem? On Windows 10 you can just add the game's exe as a non-Steam game and launch away happily (make sure Origin is closed beforehand).
