Wireless mouse and keyboard issues with link

I just go a steam link the other day and have been trying it out. I tried using a cheap wireless keyboard/mouse combo but when I plug in the USB dongle the system seems to lock up. Even my steam controller stops functioning. As soon as I remove the USB dongle it starts working again. Anyone know what's going g on?

What is the make/model if your wireless keyboard/mouse combo?
Is there a difference in behavior if keyboard/mouse are powered off vs. on when you plug in the USB dongle?

Have you tried an USB hub between the dongle and the steam link, preferably a powered hub.

I have not tried a hub it only uses a single dongle and i have my steam controller directly connected to the link.

They were also both on when i plugged in the dongle. I did try power cycling both after plugging in the dongle and reseting with the connect botton on both.

You mentioned you also have your steam controller connected directly. Do you mean wirelessly or with a cable?

If you have another wired USB mouse or keyboard connected while you plug the dongle in, does it also stop working?

Does this wireless keyboard set work ok with a computer?

The steam controller is connected wirelessly. Dont have another wireless mouse/keyboard, both mouse and keyboard work on my PC.

Thanks mate. I had the same problem and I used non powered USB hub. Now it's working well.
