Steam Link

Steam Link

Mic support?
Will this be implemented? It's the only thing keeping me from loving this device. With the steam controller I can now play squad on the TV but i can't communicate with my team which is the most important part of the game.

If your mic is USB and you're willing to fork over a few more dollars VirtualHere will allow it to passthrough from the Link to your PC. The cost of VirtualHere is a though pill to swallow for some though.

I've also made my smart phone a mic through a program called wireless orange as an option.

has this been confirmed? is there a list of headsets that are supported somewhere?

This is an old thread and the situation has changed now. VirtualHere is no longer required as long as you use the streaming audio drivers that were added to the Steam client recently.

Does this work for both USB and Bluetooth headsets? I'm getting ready to purchase a headset, and wondering what my options are. The only threads I can find are severely outdated.

So, mic is working over stream or not?

I picked up a turtle beach px3. Audio works great for when I don't want to disturb others, but the mic doesn't work. I even purchased virtual here, but the link crashes as soon as I connect to my PC with the headset enabled in the virtual here settings.

did you check the "steam straming microphone" is enabled via the recording devices? it should work without VH

I just spent the evening attempting to get my mic to work over steam link, and I found the solution (for me, at least.) When you turn on the Steam Link, before you connect to the PC, go to settings>audio and enable microphone. I have no idea why it's not enabled by default.
