Bombshell - Whats next?
Hi Guys!

I think you guys deserve an update on what's going on atm. with Bombshell and the future of Interceptor.

Times have been rough.. Bombshell didn't do as well as we expected, leaving us in a very difficult situation. Our following game, Rad Rodgers, had been in development prior to the Bombshell release, so we wanted to wrap that up first to see if we could turn things around.

Unfortunately we had to pull the plug as a studio.

Those are really sad news, and a major part of why we've been silent.
We've been working for months on a rescue-plan for the studio, and we didn't want to update you guys before we actually had something substantial to talk about.

We do now;

We're starting up again, under a new name (More info coming soon!).
Our next goal is to make a new agreement with 3D Realms, and get 1.3 out of the door, while working on console ports.

Bombshell was the biggest and most ambitious game we've ever worked on.
It's very dear to our hearts, and not something we want to abandon.

The past 6 months have been very rough, but there's a light at the end of the tunnel.

I'll personally keep you guys updated as things progress - but I want to make sure I can update you with something substantial :)

Thanks for hanging in there!

Speaking personally, I don't see the point of the console ports. Especially since you're still working with UE3 which doesn't have native support for PS4 or Xbone.

I'd say just do the 1.3 update and consider the job done. A flop is a flop, nothing you can really do about that.

Bombshell uses UE4, doesnt matter nonetheless, console pplz wont purchase this game.

"Still" glad i didnt. My interest on this development depended on them owning the 3DR brand, being a fan of 3dr games. Didnt they acquired 3dr, how come they have to work an agreement?

Nope, its Unreal Engine 3. Same engine as Rise of the Triad.

Oh my, just a quicky for now:
A. I like Bombshell, own it on GoG. Super game, with some minor flaws.
B. I had to start over in my own business. That was a blessing, looking back at it, now.
C. All the best, hope to see you guys better than ever, soon.

Best
Hank, aka Taamalus / Phoenix

Hey Fresch! Rey is here. Hope you're going well.
I want to say that going this way is pointless, wasting money on something like Bombshell is not clever, the game is bad and you have to accept that, no people are playing it, almost no one bought it, you spent few million dollars on it and got around 20 000$ which is an absolute fail. Also, your other title Rad Rogers (which I baked 250$) did not go well due to a few minor problems. Personally, I would never be interested in investing in your projects.

Instead I would recommend you to focus on something else, for example mobile dev. Investing around 10-15k$ you could make a game with an average 600-1000$ daily income. Think about that, if interersted text me on skype, I will show you some proofs.

Thank you

I gave up on this a long time ago, but I still check in on it every once in a while because I was really looking forward to this game. If by some miracle you guys actually manage to pull this off, you'll finally get my money. But ONLY if 1.3 gets released and it actually adds everything it's supposed to and resolves all of the games problems. Not to mention it would be a good PR boost rather than dragging down whatever your new studio is with a bad reputation of not finishing games from the get go.

Best of luck, I really want to buy this game so get it fixed!

Also a small suggestion: How about a re-branding once 1.3 is out and everything is good? Something along the lines of Bombshell: Atomic edition, though maybe something more original. It would be a simple marketing move adding it to the new releases pile getting it coverage from different outlets.

To that I say looks at the 1.3 update notes. Calling it something like the "atomic" edition is bouncing a check this upate can't cash.

I'd say drop the price after the update. The fact that this game is still its full retail price is a problem in and of itself. Hatred is only $8.99 down from the original $19.99.

Well, I'm sorry to hear the studio closed, although I'm not really surprised. I'm confused about the comment regarding a new deal with 3DRealms, too. I thought Interceptor and 3DR were owned, or at least backed, by the same person.

In any case, in the future only work on one project at a time. Don't release it until it's ready. Support it after it's released. Keep your social media, websites, and forums updated.

Best of luck in the future.

I bought the game when i got out, got a lot of major problems, was waiting for the 1.3 version to really begin playing it. Guess i'll wait more... hope you guys will be able to release the game fixed and i m sure it'll sell well this time.

Oh well, good luck.

No.
SDN Invest, more specifically Mike Nielsen, bought 3DRealms. Mike si the current CEO of the company.
SDN Invest also made an investment into Interceptor before he bought 3DR.

Which is why all Interceptor games were published by 3DRealms.
