While the game does support the open GL API and metal API on Macs, non intel Macs must use the internal Rosetta in MacOS to emulate an intel CPU which causes some serious issues with Universim unfortunately.
This is also mentioned in the system requirements on the store page that the game only supports Intel based Macs.
MINIMUM:
OS: MacOS 10.X or higher. Game is not compatible with M1 Macs
However, they just haven't updated that to say it also doesn't work on M2 Macs
@Dave: if the game doesn't support M1/M2/M3 -> most probably it should be marked as MacOs non-compatible. BTW there are plenty of games using Unity and running as smooth as hell on macs. Constant update of frameworks you use is a sign of well established development habits, if upon release your product already is a legacy you're gona have trouble supporting it.
