Frame rate drops

Does anyone else experience a huge drop in frame rate in late game? Like everything's fine for hours then all of a sudden it turns super laggy and stutters constantly. Any help??

Happend to me when i was at +-200 nuggets. Use P on the keyboard to pause game, fps will return to normal, go to save building and save. After restarting the game and loading my save file it was fixed. Though the game did crash after about an hour later.

i have same issue but loading game is not helping, i even try to download and isntall game on different (more powerful pc) but after load game is still unplayable . And i dont even have 100 nuggets yet.

Your graphics card is likely not good enough and is overheating.

exact problem im having.. get just over 200 people and the game becomes unplayable.. ive reached out to steam for a refund which is unlikely... i enjoyed the game and it ran fine clear up until it didnt.. what a joke.. i beat all the minimum requirements for the game so id like to hear their excuses for the blatant broken game and abuse of steams 2 hour return policy.

i just dont think the game is properly optimized yet, same with all other patches, each patch seems to bring its own set of good and bad things. This latest patch i notice fps issues alot more than in the past

Sounds like you run out Vram on the GFxs card. Gets to about 4GB VRAM. Turn off any FPS's programs, can cause issues too.

I have 250 with other civs I get small fps drops time to time but I'm sure devs are working on it I checked older discussion and people had problems with 50-100 pop so there is hope I think it's not worth refund

This happened to me last night. Running great at about 250 or so nuggets, then I placed a new farm (which happened to demolish 3 stone huts) and at that very moment it got really laggy. I stuck with it for about 5 mins to see if it would resolve on its own, and it did not. So I made a new save file, closed the game, then reloaded that save file and it worked fine. Very strange!

I have a racecar of a computer with a more than capable GPU and i still get huge FPS drops throughout the game entirely. When i zoom all the way in to the closest it will go, the frame rate goes back to normal. Zoom out and it tanks, but not always. Sometimes the game will run flawlessly from any height but it will inevitably tank after a while. No rhyme or reason at this point, no changing of graphics settings fixes it. Makes for a VERY long and frustrating game that I cannot even get past the first era on. Any others? Any fixes?
