No Sound - Possible solution

Having started the game with the no sound issue I spent some time trouble shooting it and my guess is that if you have any software that is dynamically controlling the audio settings it could be causing your problem.

I have an Alienware 17 r4 which has the "Alienware Sound Center" software installed, once the app was closed the audio returned for the game. This is the only game I've had this issue with but it's not the end of the world.

Just leaving this here as the other messages never returned with any advice or comments on resolution.

That last part is not true. They answer all the time but they have holidays now..

By other messages I mean to say that if you search for this type of issue no one has ever responded with an actual solution or any indication of what the problem might be. I wasn't suggesting that the developers never answer, they do and ask questions but the players typically do not respond.

Hey Red, appreciate you doing that digging. There's been a couple issues we think are caused by third party apps (Some other people were having problems with permissions) and any details you can share we appreciate. Especially when I ask players questions and they never respond :P Thank you for the help.

I wish I could give more details on my particular case but alas the Alienware Sound Center seems to take over control at some point and just mutes the volume. I'm unsure of why it would be the case for Universim that it's interrupting audio though as it's the only game I've encountered this issue with.

If there's a way to dump any startup/init logs from the game then I'd be happy to help with that if you can let me know the process.

To be honest, I think it's a pointless piece of software and I've been ambivalent about it's existance until now.
