Admittedly, I haven't tried the game since 2016 (according to my Library, though I thought I tested it 2-3 years ago), so out of curiosity - in the past five years, have we gotten to a point where we can leave the starting planet yet?

No that won't be in the game until release which I think will be by the end of this year unless they postpone it.

Although you can get to a point where you build satellites.

I have a few eternal EA games... like the devs just never stopped adding new stuff, and people over there complain too, but I don't really get it. Would it be better if they stopped developing and slapped a 1.0 on there, and started doing post release patches... until it's the game they said it would be? What good would it do? So the same people who want it out of EA can howl about how promises weren't kept and it was too early...

Just seems silly to me... regular updates and new content is way better than "finished".

Sorry OP but please don't be "that guy" that buys into an EA game and then proceeds to annoy the devs and other users with "TAKING TO LONG TO DEVELOP" posts.
No one likes that guy.

I don´t care how long it takes for them to call the game finished, I would have the same experience playing this game if they would have called it finished last week. As long as it stays in EA and I see progress, I know they are working to make it even better, why would I get angry about that?

I tried it like last year I think. Still a slow sloppy experience and not a good game. I still had to hold shift in order to move the camera faster than turtle speed and have the callus to prove it. They keep adding things but have yet to make it a game I'd play.

The problem is .. BIG GAME..... tiny development team.

I last played the game on February 2020, and stopped playing because I figured I would wait to play after hearing about the upcoming ability to inhabit other planets. Now its almost 19 months later, and im still waiting lol. Hopefully being able to explore new planets will be out by the end of the year?
