1) Lazy route:
Leave everything as is but add the option to planet crack colonized worlds as long as you control more than 1 planet.
2) Slightly less lazy but just as lazy option:
Literally add a demolish button to the evolution tower that destroys it and effectively un-colonizes a planet making the player manually destroy buildings, salvage resources and ship them back before cracking the planet.
3) Optimal option in my opionion:
Add a "pack up and leave" option to the evolution tower with a confirmation button that automates the process. Have all your buildings demolish and the partial resources salvaged. Have your evolution tower turn back into a rocket, and all your resources and nuggets get packed up into the rocket in a resonable time (within 5 mins) and all nuggets and resources are either shipped back to your home planet or a planet of your choosing.
They can compensate for this as to not allow exploiting once you crack the planet by adjusting for the resources you harvested so when you go to crack it you do not get the full value. Example: If the planet originally had 18k oil, but while you were there you mined like 6k oil, then now if you crack the planet you can only get 12k total etc.
Those would be my suggestions as of right now.
It is too absurd to have it this way. WHY can't we leave a planet once we land?!
The issue messages get very annoying after a few planets.
