Observatory range should be larger
The rang on the observatory should have a much larger range.

The range on the observatory is too small, this requires me to build an observatory on every planet to expand the planet map, if I use the planet cracker on a planet it disappears and can no long expand the map, if I colonize a planet, I can not use the planet cracker. So I'm left with a choice colonize planets to expand the map, or use the planet cracker and block myself from expanding farther.

I've updated my observatory range to the max (even the ones the cost DP), didn't seem like it did much. It seems like I'm missing something here.

In an earlier version it was possible to launch a sattelite. The assests and code should still be there so I'd suggest allowing the launch of sattelites to mitigate the described problem.

It would also be nice if I could explore planets without colonizing them, like send a satellite to the planet so I can see what's on it and decide if I want to colonize it, instead of colonizing every planets just to see it.

By much larger range i assume your thinking of 200% plus range. i hope a mod comes out that makes it configurable.

What I noticed: there is a research, that promises 30% increase in range. But it has no effect. Neither the scan area, not the range of the scanning is not increased in my case.

I'm not talking about the range in terms of the radius, no. Considering there is no way to uncolonize a planet currently and considering you can't planet crack a planet you have colonized, there needs to be a way to do the 2 following things:

1) You should be able to uncover the shroud in the starmap anywhere not by proximity. Like if I want to click the top right corner of the map and explore that first I should be able to. I shouldn't have to colonize a bunch of planets I do not want to forcing me to play out those planets just to explore my vision further to places I do actually want to settle. The starmap is infinite as they said it would be but its kind of misleading in the sense it's only infinite if you keep exploring farther and farther. Currently the starmap is limited to an area until you explore the farthest planets you can see then the starmap stretches further aand further to unlock more area.

2) As someone mentioned before you should be able to scan a planet with the observatory and see the list of resources it offers before choosing to colonize it like you can ONLY if you plan to destroy it with the planet cracker. There is many times I colonized a planet because I needed oil because it said "rich in resources" just to find out it only offered the alien resources with alchemy and none of them offered oil which I needed.

3) Also as a god game I do really feel I should have the option to planet crack colonized planets. If i settle somewhere and strip mine a planet for 1 particular resource I don't want to keep 1,000+ nuggets at endlessly eating, drinking and just spamming reesidences doing nothing. I should be able to planet crack it and destroy it for the remaining resource I want or have an option to like pack up and leave sending all current nuggets and resources somewhere else.

I honestly didn't think the 30% increase worked, but wasn't sure so I didn't want to say it didn't work. Regardless It doesn't help any, and needs to be much larger.

I hope they do change it in the game itself.

BUT if they don't you could always use my Enhanced Observatory mod I released yesterday.

:-) Enjoy :-)

You can actually use the spaceport to ship ALL colonists to another planet constantly moving to new planets :-)

That being said I am working on making a mod to allow you to planet crack colonized planets so maybe *soon*?

I didn't even know this game had mod support, that would be pretty cool
