There is no real "goal" or reason to do anything.. Playing "God" while it was toted and sold as the main focus, ends up being a completely pointless, and half baked concept, that seems to have been dropped within the first few years of development, literally the god mechanics they had in the game 6 years ago, is what we have now.. nothing has been added or updated, nothing has been fleshed out or expanded upon since the very earliest versions of this games Early access over 5 years ago.
Then you have the aimless goals and game mechanics.. Going to other planets should be fun, and open up new opportunities but it doesn't, it's just "oh here is a new RNG landmass to build on with everything you've already unlocked, have fun!
It becomes superbly repetitive and pointless, even before you hit new planets.
I've been keeping this game on my wishlist for years now but haven't followed the development much, I just waited for the 1.0 release and now I was checking here to see if this was another game where devs gave up and just slapped 1.0 to call it a day.
Sadly this seems the case since watching the Events & Announcements forum they went from v0.1.59 in december to v1.0, that's pretty sus
Anyway, thank you guys for your sacrifice, I no longer have the game on my wishlist and I'm off to follow greener EA pastures to see it they fare any better.
That said, I also love incremental/idle games, so we probably liked the game for different reasons.
I both like and dislike the powers, they are too powerful/cheap, which is fun but also feels weird. I remember being able to manually create the atmosphere on the moon with god powers, which felt lame.
Disagree with the meter though, it's not a hate/love meter, it's a Feared/Loved meter.
They fear you when you show your strength off, hurtling giant rocks at high speed, striking things with lightning and slaughtering things. It being helpful doesn't make it less scary. They love you when you perform miracles, bless land, heal others, grow forests, etc.
at the very least it's very human/realistic, it would be weird if anyone wasn't afraid of you, probably the most unrealistic is how fast they switch between love/hate, they wouldn't forget your scary power that easily irl :v
Dude has been lurking on the forums for 5 years waiting for this chance.... SMH
5 years just to list a number of incorrect observations.
Nuggets get scared if you pick things up near them because giant rocks and trees suddenly flying around is alarming. Picking things up away from nuggets and placing them on buildings results in no fear.
"There is an event in which I HAVE to use the thunderbolt in the middle of my base if I want to go forward with the technology"
Assuming you're talking about the battery event? That shouldn't cause fear. Did you aim incorrectly?
I can understand the "wow, a big boulder moves and scares the crap out of me", but honestly after 10 seconds I'd be thinking "thanks for putting that stuff in the right place", especially if it keeps happening.
Same goes for the Thunderbolts vs the Wolves. Yeah, it would be fu****g scary if a pack of wolves attacked me and my family and the lightning bolts hit them all, but after 3 seconds I'd be howling and thanking God for the help.
Sry, I really can't understand this. This game would be so much better with different mechanics.
