Black Screen on Startup
I just bought the $29.99 package from the online store and got the game successfully downloaded. Nothing went wrong and I got the game updated to the latest verion, but when I launched the game, it went to a black screen with the default cursor for the game (the little glowing dot) and the music. I tried to launch it again, I even restarted my computer becuase sometimes that actually works. But it's still doing it and I cant find any discussions about this issue. Any Suggestions? (I'm on a windows 10 professional PC with NVIDIA graphics chip and AMD processor.

Check your email, you should have a steam key too, add that to Steam and when it launches tomorrow (11am PDT) perhaps the steam version (more updated version) will work better for you.

I haven't updated to the latest download from the website so I can't really comment on that version.

Yeah, I had thought just to do that. I won't be able to check it out until later that day, but after spending this money, I really dont have a choice lol

i did that and it didn't work, i am having the same issue, when i try to adjust brightness at the begging of the game it didn't do anything for the brightness

What's your operating system, CPU, GPU, and memory?

my operating system is windows 7, cpu is 2.83 8 core, gpu is nvidea quadro fx 5800 memory is 32 gigs

do you think it might be my gpu? it plays the game, i can see the controls just fine the world itself is black

Yeah, that GPU isn't supported. It came out in 2008, and it's 13 years old technology.

The min req is a GTX 770 is 300% faster than that old quadro. The 770 also has a DX feature level of 11.0. The Q 5800FX's feature level is only 10.0

The Q 5800FX has the same perf as the old GT 740. However, the 740 has DX feature level of 11.0.

The game reqs a DX feature level of 11.0+
