How to change character? Dumb question!

Pressing Y with the controller brings a wheel, you select the chosen character and nothing happens...in the top left corner, it says to press A but you can't do that as if you leave the Y button, nothing happens. Even with 2 hands ;)

Please help...must be stupid...

Well, I see that the control has the second player assigned keyboard...?
Can I switch characters with one controller??? Playing solo?? without using the keyboard?

ok I can see that the 2nd player has no control when you start but if I press f2 or any other key like they tell me to, it grants the second player control and I cannot remove it in the options panel?

Please help...first lego game.

it wont let you switch because another character has jonied, make sure your playing 1 player.

if anyone still has this issue, just don't click f2

I'm on keyboard and this doesn't help along with the rest of it
