Can't switch between Velocirapters and Owen in single player

I'm trying to play the first level of Jurassic World, but I'm not able to switch back to Owen after first switching to the velociraptors. The circle around him is blinking and the Y is flashing (I'm on controller) but when I click Y I just swap between the 2 velociraptors.

Try holding the button down to bring up the character wheel and select him that way :)
