How do you save progress??
Me and my son have played the first 3 levels a few times and each time it wont save our progress. All the player profiles say zero percent and we start right from the beginning.

The only threads ive found about this bug say you have to msnually save at info points that have the blue dot on, but all these do is bring up a map of the park.

Its such a great game but pretty unplayable if you cant save progress. Can anyone help me out or is it an unfixable bug with the pc version of lego jurassic world? Thanks!

The only saves the game makes itself are at the very end of a level, to the save-slot that you choose when you open the game, anything other than a complete level will only save stud-total and items discovered. It can make each session a bit long sometimes, my only suggestion is that first time through (cause you will have to replay levels later) you don't get caught up trying to get every stud. Get through the level, get the autosave, and then you can progress the story. I will add don't buy anything at first (characters, etc). Save up the studs for when you find a multiplier brick. Once you get one or two of those and the stud attractor you can afford anything you bump into for the rest of the game. If you want to know where the bricks are you can check out the Guides section in this forum for the walkthroughs. I've used Broden's and it's pretty useful.

Hope this helps. Good Luck :)

thanks mark. I thought we'd completed a level as weve gone through a few stud totals screens and been in the helicopter. where is the first point that the game saves?

Its strange ( and a shame) it doesnt save at each stud total screen like all the other lego games! i guess now telltale are out of business this will never get updated/patched :(

You can't miss the end of a level.. you get the studs-earned added to your total, a minikit 'build', characters/vehicles/dinos unlocked, and bricks totals. Free-play is unlocked for that level, then you have to 'continue' back to the game (?no other option so I don't know why?). Check out the walkthrough guide for an idea how long each level is, but generally, if you are going for everything you can get, a level can take me between 30-60mins though it does get a lot faster with the stud attractor :)

Ah, thanks so much. Crazy that a game aimed at kids doesnt have more save points! I guess I'll be spending my evenings playing and unlocking all the levels for him! Ha ha!

It's also handy to do that because you'll have advice for him on how to do things and where the 'good stuff' is so he won't get so frustrated. You can also nip ahead and find those Extras.

Have fun :)

That's true! Thanks.

I was wondering about this. I just got the game and played up until i got to the visitor center (JP)
then shut it off, came back a bit later and was back at the helicopter. :yun:

Sorry I didn't see your reply! Yes, so basically it's a design flaw in the game. You have to get a very long way through the game before you get to the first save point.

It's pretty annoying, but still worth playing if you have a dino and lego mad kid like me! It's quite fun in two player mode. I basically kept playing until I got to the first save point and then let him play it. I can't remember now, but i think the first save point was 3 or 4 levels in (!!) and then you have to actually go up to the save signpost (looks more like a wonky tombstone) and ask it to save. It will not save your progress automatically! The save signposts look very like the map signposts, so keep an eye out for them (think they have an sd card icon on them instead of a map). These then appear a bit more frequently once you've done the first one, so it does get less annoying!

It's a pretty fun game to play despite this annoying setback. Of course, it would be infinitely better with autosave. I'd say its twice as good as lego harry potter but half as good as lego city.

Hallo.

Hi Sayujiro,

Yes it's a shame this game isn't as well built as the other Tt Lego games. It's hard to believe it's not older than a 2015 game! The build and gameplay of lego Jurassic definitely feel rushed compared to their other games like Batman and Lego City.

Despite making a lot of pretty decent games, Telltale games closed down last year (2018), which makes me think the company must have had some serious management issues - maybe that's why the quality of the games varied so much!?

Telltale Games is something completely different from TT Games so i don't really know why you bring that up now?

Hi Mark, thanks for your tips about saving. This is my first Lego game, so it is all new to me. (I've had experience with various Microsoft Flight Simulator "games"; but Lego is a whole new world. Thanks again; Frank.

Wow, I've had this exact problem. My kid has been playing for days, and even now, his save games are showing all at zero %. Each time he plays he's back to the raptor transfer level, with no ability to do free play or anything on levels (I think) he has completed. Now, maybe he's doing something "wrong" but there is no clear direction or guidance for how this works. Really frustrating for him and us. Definitely taking a star away from my review!

As it has been said already, le game only autosaves at the end of a level (when you see a "results screen" with everything you've unlocked in that level) or when you get a collectible in the open world.
If the game saves at neither of those places, it might be trying to save in a read-only folder?
